The Hippos are here - Rutland goes wild in art!
Rutland’s streets and open spaces have been taken over by some unusual visitors …. a Bloat of hippos is here! The project is funded by the Arts Council of England and has been developed by Arts for Rutland and the Oakham Festival in partnership with Wild in Art, who are an experienced arts events and Education Company that has successfully staged similar events in the UK, Europe and Africa. Each Hippo has been sponsored by local business, community groups and individuals and decorated by local artists.
You are invited to follow the Hippo trail around Rutland using the list provided below. Each Hippo is individual and great fun, and by each one are the details of each artist, sponsor and a trail questionnaire that once completed can be put into a prize draw (the winner will be drawn in October when the Hippos have gone to hibernate!).
The project was made possible by funding and support from Arts Council England, local businesses, schools and artists.
Please note, some Hippos are in their paddocks at night and on Sundays.
