The Arts for Rutland Strategy:

The published Strategy of Arts for Rutland states its intention to support arts improvements in Rutland: “Arts for Rutland will promote actions which enhance the overall quality, accessibility, community involvement and variety of cultural activity.”

In particular, the Strategy identifies the following principals:

QUALITY promote inspirational flagship events of high quality; continue to develop festivals to the highest possible standard; recognise and encourage the best of new talent with awards for outstanding work; ensure that there are high quality venues, venue management and infrastructure.

ACCESSIBILITY enhance local and online Box Office facilities; enhance publicity, ensuring people know 'something is happening'; promote touring productions and workshops across the county; ensure that events are accessible to all; ensure social inclusion – breaking down the barriers which say “That’s not for me because...".

INVOLVEMENT encourage the active participation of as many as possible including local performers, artists and audiences across different demographic groups; encourage audience feedback and research to guide future planning.
