Team

Arts for Rutland is an umbrella organisation for Rutland, and is committed to leading, promoting and supporting the arts in the County.  The group consists of a committee, elected from representatives of community arts organisations and individuals.  The members of the Committee are shown below.


Peter Lawson (Chairman)

An amateur violinist and choir member, now Chairman of ‘Music in Lyddington’. Played a leading role in establishing Arts for Rutland, which he now Chairs.

Abigail Bishop

Qualified and experience in gallery and arts event management. Active member of Arts for Rutland, particularly Marketing.

Robert Clayton

Rutland County Council -Head of Culture and Leisure, responsible for improving cultural services. In Arts for Rutland seeking to engage more audiences in the arts.

Robert Dale

Robert is Treasurer and leads the Marketing Group; responsibilities include development and operation of the website.

Joy Everitt

Her involved with amateur dramatics caused her to become Chairman of the Oakham Festival. Within Arts for Rutland her role is Project Officer and is involved in co-ordinating the Hippo Sculpture project and Theatre Trips to regional arts centres.

Peter Jones

Peter Jones is heavily involved with Arts for Rutland, the Arts Council bid and operation of programmes.

Peter Davies

PETER DAVIS moved to Rutland in 2005 to take up the position of Director of Music at Oakham School. As well as overseeing his school department which is renowned for its musical excellence, he has also taken the lead in a number of community music initiatives since coming to Oakham, including regular primary school workshops, conducting the Oakham Choral Society, and advising a range of groups/schools on their musical projects.

Mo Gardner

Mo Gardner is a Sculptor who works mainly in stone. Her work seeks to release the image within the stone. Together with her husband Roy Holley she started Rutland Artists Open Studios, and has had the pleasure of watching it grow from strength to strength. She runs sculpture classes on a regular basis in her Lodge Learning Arts Studio in Morcott
